New Jersey Society of Licensed Tree Experts Membership

Why Join the New Jersey Society of Licensed Tree Experts?

Becoming a member of the New Jersey Society of Licensed Tree Experts is about more than just joining a group – it’s about advancing your career and staying at the forefront of the tree care industry. From training and resources to networking opportunities, our society is here to support you every step of the way.

Training and Resources for Licensed Tree Experts

One of our most valuable offerings is our one-day Preparatory / Educational Sessions open to all individuals who either wish to take the NJ Licensed Tree Expert examination, need continuing education or pesticide credits, or just want to update themselves on current problems with trees and learn the solutions.

The intense four-day course covers such topics as:

  • Tree Identification
  • Tree Anatomy
  • Tree Physiology
  • Insects
  • Disease Cycles
  • General Tree Care

We also offer sample examinations and reviews to help you prepare for the final test. The classes are generally given on four separate days: one in April, two in May, and the last at the beginning of June.

Dinner Meetings and Networking Opportunities

We hold dinner meetings several times a year. These meetings give members a chance to network with fellow LTEs, have a good meal, and engage in lively discussions. Previous dinners have been at locations like the Rutgers Club on the Cook College Campus and also at the Forest Resource Education Center in Jackson Township.

We always see excellent attendance at our meetings, and the information shared by the speakers and the networking with fellow LTEs are very worthwhile.

We hold our annual meeting of the NJ Society of Licensed Tree Experts during the New Jersey Shade Tree Federation Conference in October. The conference uploads previous presentations and information on its website for tree care workers to reference afterward.

We encourage any LTE’s to come out to our meetings and attend the Shade Tree Federation’s Conference if you can. The information and networking opportunities make it well worth your time.
